I'm 38. This seems to be an age when good things happen to my friends. Just got back from a lovely birthday dinner at a favorite restaurant with some of my favorite people. And, while I find myself short on clever things to say tonight, I am happy.

Ah, yes: 38! It is indeed an interesting time. Just when you think you have stuff sorted out and The Plan in place... the Fates sweep through. Speaking from the grand old perspective of 45, I can assure you that whatever crap comes up, there will be some amazing doors opening, even if you don't quite see it that way until later.
