After a massively eventful week, two nights reading irresistible novels until 1 A.M., and a houseguest who had a bad cold, I am now sick.

At least I am sick in splendid isolation; my flatmate has moved to his next abode. Whew.

Had pasta with a raw clove of garlic in it for dinner, about to drink hot-lemon-and-honey, then collapse.

With a garlic press. crush the clove of garlic into a tablespoon of olive oil with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; let it sit there for a while; then use this to dress a bowl of pasta. With some parmesan, maybe. Mmm mmm good.

glad you got your house back, but there are better ways to celebrate than a cold. [*looks stern*]

Hey, I definitely had plans to celebrate living in glorious solitude once more. I was going to walk around the house naked playing the kazoo, and then have chocolate mousse. For dinner. While still naked.

The two that kept me up late are Kushiel's Mercy by Jacqueline Carey and Life Mask by E. Donoghue.

I'm trying. To top it all off, a chicken is simmering into homemade chicken soup on my stovetop.
