Two of my fanfic pieces have been nominated at different fanfiction awards. Yay! The Weregild has been nominated at vote-based Middle-Earth Fanfiction Awards, and Lindon Night has been nominated at the MPAs, in the “Most Unique Pairing” category. The scary thing is, now that ficlets/drabbles have caught on so much, these seem to be relatively long stories...

tecno_fairy, who has been with me an additional two weeks, moves on to fresh fields and pastures new tonight. It has been amazing to see the 18th-century style opera costumes she has made using my sewing machine. Obviously, I have no excuse for not being a better seamstress.

Last week’s cold seems to have sparked off this week’s toothache. I am bracing myself to be scolded and drilled by a holistic dentist on Friday.

Well, the fact that they have been nominated would seem to suggest that people are still interested in entering the experience of a longer text (nothing like getting immersed in a nice novel-length fic, I say!)

But they aren't particularly long for short stories - just in comparison to a drabble. Strange.
