Rolling On Into Winter
Jun. 3rd, 2007 06:21 pmI have successfully handled the potential social hand grenade of a co-worker (to whom I am out) asking if I wanted to see a film at the gay and lesbian film festival. The answer, of course, is yes, but which film? Luckily for me, this year's festival fare is high on lesbian comedians, and short on leather. We will be seeing The King and The Clown, which is historic, funny, has subtitles, and is as slashy as all get-out.
Once this was settled, I then had to answer the question of “what is burlesque.” Which wasn’t as bad as the time I had to explain “what is polyamory” – to one of my brothers. (“No! No! Don’t make me have this conversation with you!” “But I really don’t know!”)
( Start of winter cosiness, with pictures. )
