I've spent the past two days going "What???"
This is partly because of the LJ imbroglio. Once I was off my work PC, I took a walk around some of the places in LJ where people who don't just fantasize about kinky stuff go. Like BDSM and age-play journal communities. They're starting to look around and go "Hey, what is this? Is this really happening?" and take action, too. Most amusing response: due to some recent witchhunting, I've changed my "Interests" list. Everytime you see something out of character, like "church" or "jesus", that's my code; it means, "Fistfucking Orphans." (Unfortunately for me, this quipster already has a girlfriend. I checked.)
Amazingly similar issues are making me go "What???" outside of LJ, as a concerned practicing pervert. One is this poor man getting busted for 'inappropriate' fetish material in NZ - which included stories on his computer. Another is because a friend of mine decided to inform me that somebody in my social circle was prosecuted for pedophila. "I just thought you should know..." This, too, was related to Stuff On A Computer.
On another note, a friend of mine has found out that her stepdaughter, who was starting to seem notably young-acting for her age, has microcephaly. It's genetic (from the girl's mother), so there's not much to be done. I know the girl, so this is sad and worrying.
Off to go back up my journal and see what people in a country with wider freedom of speech are going to do next.
