New Zealand, clean and green, sensible, public health care, great film industry due to lovely unspoiled scenery, good wine, yada yada, very nice - or should I say good on you mate?

For all that, New Zealand's inhabitants have a great
interest in buying tickets AWAY FROM this wayward fragment of Gonwandaland. Travel is big, and travel agents are a profound retail presence, with windows full of "One-Way Specials To London!" "Sydney Mardi Gras Now!" and encouragements to get rental cars. I started looking in their windows and ads recently to see if there were any advertised deals for travel to the U.S. In the past month, such deals have been conspicuous by their absence.

Hmmmmmm.

My Take On The Apology Meme

The meme of the week is fanfiction writers apologizing to the characters they write about – a very funny example is at Vulgarweed’s LJ here, vulgarweed. If I was to apologize to the characters I write about from Middle-Earth, we’d be here all week. And that’s not what I feel guilty about, to be honest. There is one apology long overdue.
