I pine for Dunkin Donuts still. :( We share the same favourite, too! I tried to inculcate Mundens in the Donut cult but the Dunkin Donuts from Auckland airport were not the best ever. Strangely, we have one place in Christchurch that does a passable imitation and we had a Winchells which seemed very successful until it closed down.
I also live in hope that Dreamy Donuts - the Australian donut which is reputed to be superior to any of the other chains (and I see they make their chocolate donuts with lindt chocolate so that bodes well). http://www.dreamydonuts.com/default.asp?PageID=71
I used to like one in Thailand that was called American Donut or something but it was second to Dunkin Donuts. The best Dunkin Donuts ever were in Singapore and the worst in Auckland. Go figure.
*coffs* now that I have outed myself as another donut obsessive... Ill also out myself as a general sweet toothed food lover and comment that I miss Swensens also!!! *grin*
