Spring Dresses In The Bud
Jul. 14th, 2010 02:21 pmIt's crisp cold sunny winter here. My cat and I, both bred for this*, find this much more agreeable than wet stormy winter, and dash around happily with cold noses and warm coats. In my valley, the mornings are white with frost and mist, and the stars are piercing at night.
Still, last night I wound up at the home of two more women who sew, and I learned that I'm not the only one to have spring on my mind, in the form of spring dresses and sewing projects. They each had fabric from a recent fabric sale, in colors of the earliest spring. One creatrix's stack of dark and loamy fabric had slim folds of vivid green and pink peeping out of it, and the other was working on a deep wine gown with a white flowing underdress, like pale petals just emerging from a cherry bud.
* Maine Coon cat and hybrid Russian Jewish/Scots-English, respectively.
