Spring Weekend

My freelance client is utterly thrilled with the web site I’m doing for them. I’m torn between “Woo hoo!” and “Perhaps he doesn’t get on the Internet very often…”

What else did the weekend hold? Some thrifting, some farmer’s market visits (strawberries! asparagus!), lots of walking, and time with old and new friends. I signed up for Burlesque 2 instead of lindy hop, because they’re having Burlesque 2 much sooner than I expected. The cherry on top of all of this is that I also received a free ticket to the Fetish Ball, which pleases me greatly.

Sunday, I did a thorough spring clean. The guest room now looks so fabulous that I am open to having a temporary flatmate this summer. Someone who needs a furnished place to stay, with some storage space, while they’re on a contract or in between places or getting established in the area. It’s worked out well for me before.

The LOL and the Cats, Part II

Tonight was LOL night, as in Little Old Lady. Continuing our forays into the Web, I showed her TradeMe, the NZ EBay equivalent. She wasn't having the greatest day healthwise to start with, and the concept of an "account" baffled and tired her.

We tried TradeMe in order to see about finding her an affectionate, free cat that needs a new home. TradeMe's specimens were few and seedy-looking. Last week, I took her to a friend's house to see an extra cat they've got, a glorious, sleek pet puma compared to the currently available TradeMe felines, but they didn't click either. I rather liked Puma myself, but I don't think Northey would.

So, if you're looking for a cat, I know of one. And if you know of a smallish, super-affectionate grown cat in the Wellington area that needs an adoring home, I'm interested. LOL is also calling the Cat's Protection League tomorrow to inquire about their less skittish beasts.
