The weekend that was
Oct. 12th, 2009 11:11 amMy bathroom ceiling finally got finished on Friday evening! I didn't have much time to admire it this weekend. Saturday morning, I pitched a web site to a new freelance client, and got the job. This was amazingly enjoyable - I've never really enjoyed "sales", but this time, I appreciated the art of the deal. sazabhadri. This was staggeringly good. My day wound up at the roller derby, which was huge fun - you should go to your local roller derby, if you have one. I rooted for the team wearing leopard print, and they won.
Sunday day, I had a pleasant surprise: a Wellington-area LOTR get together, which turned into LOTR/paleontology chitchat get together. Our host, The Happiest Man in the World, gave me some moa egg fragments. (The Happiest Man in the World, by the way, doesn't spend much time on the Internet.)
Sunday evening was devoted to further post-workmen cleaning, and arranging my guest room so that I can also use it as home workout space. “If I win the lottery, I'm going to have a home gym!” has been my refrain for a while....but last week, it struck me that nothing is stopping me from having a version of this now. Another evening’s work, and getting my Swiss ball reinflated, and I'm there.
