If none of this happens, I'm going to Auckland on vacation; if this does take place, oh, the excitement.
People in my social circles are being awfully nice to me about being at the halfway point of a novel. Maybe that's because I went to somebody else's book launch this weekend, where, for most attendees, it seemed strangely obligatory to protest that they could never, ever write a book.
