Moving To Canada, PWNEd
Mar. 8th, 2008 10:53 amI am waiting for my freshly washed hair to dry... before I go out into my garage to stack half a cord of wood. Such is my vanity. Since I probably now do not have a date on Sunday night, this half-cord of wood is the most macho thing I will spend time with all weekend, and since it is currently sprawled all over my garage floor, we are going to get to know each other very well.
And I have just seen the blog Stuff White People Like, which really should be "stuff bourgeoise bohemian white people like throughout their life cycles," since it is missing all the stuff white people like that is listed in the Wierd Al Yankovic song White and Nerdy, to say nothing of NASCAR and suchlike. Leave the comment threads alone, like the toxic waste beside a nice house on the Main Line suburb outside Philadelphia, and enjoy the essays.
One is Threatening to Move to Canada.. While this otherwise accurate essaylet falsely asserts that Europeans can never threaten to move anywhere, this is corrected by the second commenter, who points out that Europeans routinely threaten to move to New Zealand.
The other is Living By the Water. Friends of mine still, inexplicably, have this bug, despite the fact that living by the water in Wellington means freezing in winter. Thankfully, I got this out of my system years ago, when I lived in Auckland with a view/within walking distance of the sea.
