Cheri Movie
Feb. 13th, 2008 01:35 pmPleased to hear that there will be a movie of Collete's novellas, Cheri and The Last of Cheri. I don't think there's been a movie of a Colette work since Gigi. But…Michelle Pfeiffer as the sensuous, sad, mature ex-courtesan, Lea? Nooooooo! She hasn’t got Lea’s dignity. Her little cat face is better suited to one of Lea’s rivals or bitchy frenemies.
I’m painting a floor this week; a small exterior floor that connects my back foyer to the great outdoors. Part of it was painted blood red, and part of it was badly painted white. I’m unifying it with blood red gloss, and hoping that none of my neighbors stop by when I’m working. The paint smears make me look like I’ve just murdered somebody.
The hardest part is keeping my cat from pattering across it, because it’s right near her cat door. So I have a sulky indoors cat for the next few days.
