My Lucky Day
Jun. 30th, 2007 01:40 pmYesterday, at work, they had a prize give-away; a gigantic basket filled with party food, intended to be consumed, with 25 of your best friends, while you watched this weekend's rugby game. Guess who won? The gal who doesn't even own a TV for rugby-watching...
Fortunately, most of the food - what seems every variety of chip/pretzel available, topped up with chocolate bars, licorice, jars of antipasto vegetables and olives, and bottles of wine - will keep until I need it. I had been planning to have a large party in mid-September, anyway - large enough that if you're local and can read this, you're invited.
Meanwhile, my cat Northey has taken over the basket. I had put it beside my fireplace, intending to put firewood in it at some point, but then she came along. "What is this enticing wicker item? A...basket, you say? I think I like it..." She is currently turning around and around inside it, sniffing at all its components - wait, now she's settled down.
