Apr. 30th, 2007 01:17 pmI don’t have The Children of Hurin yet and I’m not likely to for another two months. This is purely because I’m timing my annual Amazon order for the release of the next Jacqueline Carey book in June. Bleah. I want both books now.
An article at Salon: Why can’t gay dwarves get married in Middle-Earth? discusses the politics and twitchiness behind the lack of a “character marriage” feature in the new online Lord of the Rings game. “...the design team wound up in a heated discussion over what restrictions should be placed on marriage. They debated not only gay marriage but also marriage between members of different species. Finally, the game's executive producer settled the matter by pulling the entire marriage feature."
Cowardy custards? Or possibly the most canonical approach to an LOTR game of all?
