Could today have been any more perfect?
Well, yes. It could have been more perfect if I hadn't nearly had a car accident on the high and narrow Akatarawa Road, and if it hadn't rained while we were at a nature park called Staglands, and if a stag hadn't tried to eat my hand. But other than that life went well and
ithilwen and I had a good time. We went to Kaitoke, Staglands, and Stansborough Weavers as our main stop - today was Lower Hutt day. When we got home, I found a letter.
A mere six months after I applied, I have been approved as a New Zealand citizen!
This means I am now a dual citizen of both New Zealand and the United States.
I'm very pleased - I've always wanted to be a dual citizen of the U.S. and somewhere, and the timing of this couldn't be better. Ithilwen and I went out to dinner at a Maori restaurant and had a dinner that involved tastings of five kinds of meat. I'd made our reservation in advance, but it was a very appropriate celebration, too.
