Just Call Me The Yankee Peddler
May. 14th, 2003 08:40 pmEver so minor site update - two new pieces of fan art, Elladan and Elrohir by Pira and a delicious Maeglin by Christine. Yum.
Less than 48 hours until my departure! I did my duty-free shop run tonight, discount card in hand. Both going to America and coming back to New Zealand, I am carrying (and obtaining at the duty free shop) extensive stuff, both presents and "Would you be able to get...I'll pay you back?" requests. The stuff I'm bringing from New Zealand - books, Cadbury chocolate, jewelry, wine - is more refined than what people are asking for from the States - liquor, cigarettes, Hershey chocolate, and more. There was one requst for "the head of George W. Bush, please?" made in jest.
Annoyingly, the exchange rate got even better since I changed my money last week. So maddening. I know if I hadn't changed my money, it would have gone down.
My cat is sitting on my suitcase as if to say, "You won't be needing this now, will you?" which plucks at my tautened heartstrings. I'm a bit tense - I really do feel like all my internal organs have been tightened, and I find myself thinking pop songs on the radio are moving in their profundity. Agh!
