The Zine Question
Apr. 24th, 2003 01:31 pmI am going to blatantly ask for replies to this entry. Those of you more experienced in fandom are encouraged to reply. I have submitted a story to a Legolas slash zine run by the folks at MAS-Zine.
Anyhow, I sent the story to the zine right before their deadline for stories for that zine; I have asked, once, when they might let me know if it’s been accepted. (I wasn't even sure if my story was in scope, since the zine focuses on The Two Towers and my story is set during Return of the King, when IMHO there is time in the plot for Legolas slash dalliances.) Their response was that they were all terribly busy and would get back to me later. It’s been a month since that exchange of correspondence.
Is this standard for fan zines? Do I just need to be patient and wait to hear from them? There's not even an official release date for this zine, but I'm assuming they will publish it for sale at a particular convention in October.
And was publishing a story in a zine worthwhile to you as far as feedback and new readers went? Or should I just ask for my baby - I mean, my story - back?
