I attempted to have a jolly-downtown-Wellington-flaneur sort of day, but was stymied by the first Truly Horribly Cold weather. More, my verdict on my new wood stove is that it's great for afternoon into evening/night heating. But I need secondary heating for my bedroom, and to keep from freezing if I'm splitting up my day and leaving the house. I foresee a lot more morning-scheduled activity so I can come home and start up the fire. Also, I need an ash bucket.

The cold makes me hungry. This donut personality analysis. had my attention. I was distressed - my favorites are chocolate frosted, maple, and boston cream, and the boston cream personality is a bit creepy. Plus, I have been known to haughtily decline to buy any donut if none of the ones I liked were available - I don't know if that's on the same spectrum as 'sob inconsolably'.

In Wellington, we have neither a Dunkin' Donuts nor a Krispy Kreme. Dunkin' Donuts has a presence in Auckland - malls only, and the cultural thing of "bring Munchkins to work" hasn't caught on here. For Wellington, the peculiar corollary to this is that many Wellingtonians crave Dunkin' Donuts. One of my co-workers has an empty Dunkin' Donuts box on his desk, such is his craving.
